Founded in 1969, Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) is a major intelligence, military, aerospace, engineering and systems contractor. It is involved in defense/military (DoD), intelligence community, and homeland security contracting, as well as selected commercial markets.
Verint is a company that provides domestic intelligence surveillance technology worldwide. The U.S. government is one of its customers. Veteran investigative journalist James Bamford, talking in an interview with Amy Goodman on Democracy Now! on October 14, 2008, named Verint one of the companies the NSA uses in its surveillance program at AT&T and Verizon.
