Corporate accountability
Labor:

Because of the huge segment of Disney's business related to consumer goods, especially children's products, the entertainment and media giant contracts with many manufacturers overseas, including in China. The labor practices of many of these contractors have come under scrutiny, including questionable working conditions and pay and contracting policies. Students & Scholars Against Corporate Misbehavior (SACOM), a Hong Kong-based NGO, launched a campaign in 2007 to push for more publicly accountable auditing practices of Disney's contractors in China as well as to demand that Disney make available a list of all of its outsourcing suppliers.

Political influence:

Walt Disney Company gave $367,500 to federal candidates in the 05/06 election cycle through its political action committee (PAC) - 48% to Democrats, 50% to Republicans, and 2% to other parties. <ref>2006 PAC Summary Data, Open Secrets, accessed July 2007.</ref>
